Agriculture is the back bone of Afghan economy. More than 80 percent of Afghanistan’s
population is connected with agriculture in one or the other way but unfortunately, the farmers of
Afghanistan have to face many problems in agricultural zone due to extreme poverty and lack of
proper education in the field. Beside this the poor farmers in the country are not in a position to
obtain appropriate seeds, fertilizers pesticides and the modern equipment that are used in
modern agricultural systems. Backward Irrigation system is another problem for the farmers of
Afghanistan. These are a few problems among the heap which cause the low standard of life for
Afghan people and their families.
Focusing the above mentioned problems and many others, Assalam Welfare Foundation
struggles to help the farmers by;

  • Providing standard seeds ,fertilizers etc Providing modern equipment for cultivation and harvesting
  • Bringing awareness about modern method of agriculture and training farmers to use modern tools and methods of agriculture for better result.
  • Construction of canals and tube wells for the supply of water to the crops.
  • Motivating the farmers to cultivate Halal (allowed) crops instead of poppy and other crops that badly affect the human lives throughout the world through seminars and
  • gatherings in cooperation with government and National international humanitarian and development aid organizations.
  • Providing fruit and other trees to poor families for in plantation season for production of fruit and protection of climate.
  • Caring out tree plantation and awareness campaigns on importance of trees plantation and protection of forests.
